Environmental terrorism (attacks on natural resources) isn't just something that happens far away from the United States. Environmental terrorism is an active threat that will impact our diplomacy, international aid, and- most importantly- our lives right now.
The Stopping Environmental Terrorism Institute aims to close the gaps between limited research, governmental recognition, action,
and your safety.
Environmental terrorism remains poorly understood in both public and academic circles. We believe education is essential to raising awareness, developing future experts, and creating the academic and professional pathways necessary to address emerging challenges to environmental security.
As the SET Institute grows, research will serve as a cornerstone of our mission. By supporting interdisciplinary research, the Institute will help develop practical prevention strategies and strengthen public and policy understanding of environmental security challenges.
Advocacy will be a core pillar of the SET Institute because research alone cannot drive meaningful change. The Institute will work to raise awareness among policymakers, academic institutions, and the public, while advocating for the recognition of environmental terrorism, increased research funding, and the development of educational and professional pathways in environmental security.
